About Us
American Firearm, Ammunition, & Hunting Experts
Our historic farm and original farmhouse dates from about 1826 as the farm is listed in the eastern Cape Frontier zone map in the field cornet district of Zwagers Hoek.
From an early homestead, where the well known South African writer, Olive Schreiner, who wrote The Story of an African Farm, lived at Klein Gannahoek (Klein Gannahoek is situated on the Farm Gannahoek) in 1875 and 1876, to one of the first premier goat breeding programs in the world in the early 1900’s.
According to her husband, S.C. Cronwright-Schreiner, Olive Schreiner claimed that she had written an early draft of the The Story of an African Farm whilst she was employed as a governess at Klein Gannahoek. It is also said that the farm set the scene for Olive Schreiner’s other writings Undine, A Queer Little Child, and her story Thorn Hill, which later became The Story of an African Farm. The Olive Schreiner Museum is located in Cradock, 45 miles from our Farm Gannahoek.
Tim and Kim Sundles owners of Buffalo Bore Ammunition bought Gannahoek in 2021.
With decades of experience, Tim has spent his life honing the craft of hunting and mastering firearm performance, earning respect throughout the hunting industry.
Kim shares that same love for the wild and works hard to make sure every guest feels right at home.
